Big Country Kennels has proudly been breeding Bernese Mountain Dogs and Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs for nearly 10 years.
Our Kennel is located in rural Niagara just outside the wine bench of Niagara. Our country property boasts 20 acres of farmland with a large pond and one acre secured area for the dogs to exercise. In the past 10 years we have proudly seen many litters born and raised in our kennel, and gone to excellent homes across Canada, and are happy to share these successes on our facebook page — www.facebook.com/BigcountryKennel. To get updates on our breeding program or to follow-up with families that have purchased a Big Country Kennel puppy we invite you to “LIKE” us on Facebook.
As our involvement in breeding and raising dogs has led to more in-depth study and research regarding nutrition, growth and development of puppies and long-term health of mature adult dogs, our desire to offer a quality all natural diet to our puppy families naturally grew into our current business Big Country Raw — www.bigcountryraw.ca. We now proudly distribute our food through over 50 retailers and online with a home delivery service across Southwestern Ontario.
With the growing demands of a new business and a growing family as well — We are the proud parents of five children ages 10 – 1 year — we asked Margarita to join us in continuing our breeding program. Together we are committed to producing quality puppies with excellent health, temperament and conformation.
Margarita is Geraldine’s sister and has been breeding dogs for ten years prior to joining Big Country Kennels. Her love for dogs has always drawn her to the breeding program. Margarita is a fulltime nurse in the Obstetrics floor at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She has utilized these nursing skills within our breeding program and is now our full time whelping mom. Margarita whelps and hand raises the puppies in her home until they are eight weeks of age. It is equally important to us that we raise well-adjusted, healthy puppies and provide our puppies with all our attention and care while they are with us. Our puppies are raised in our home with our family and are held, loved and socialized until they are old enough to go to their forever homes.
We are further committed to offering our support to all our Big Country puppy owners for the lifetime they own their dog.
